Compare Welding Tables

Find the right welding table for your workshop — and understand how BPT compares to the alternatives.

Which BPT Table Is Right for You?

Four models, one standard of precision. Every BPT table is CNC laser cut from S275JR structural steel, built to ±0.2mm, and runs the same 16mm/50mm fixture system.

Why Fabricators Choose BPT

We don't lead with material specs. We lead with outcomes — because that's what matters in your workshop.

More accurate setups

±0.2mm surface flatness gives you a reference-quality datum on every job. Fixture your work and trust the result.

Less rework

When your starting point is right, your finishing point is right. That's the compounding effect of a flat surface done properly.

Faster fixture changes

16mm/50mm pitch is the industry standard. Everything slots in first time — no adapters, no workarounds.

Built in Britain

CNC laser cut in the South-West of England. Direct from the maker — no importer markup, no import delays, 5–7 day lead time.

Modular ecosystem

Add fixture plates, speed squares, vice mounts, and risers as your work demands. One 16mm system, built to grow with you.

Direct from the maker

Talk directly to the people who cut the steel. Trade pricing available. Custom sizes from the same workshop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a modular welding table worth it?

If you want repeatable setups and less rework, yes. A flat datum surface with a proper fixture hole system means you can position clamps accurately and run the same setup again on the next job — without spending time re-squaring everything from scratch. The fixture hole system is what separates a professional welding table from a flat surface.

Why does fixture hole pitch matter?

The pitch — distance between holes — determines how precisely you can position your clamps and stops. BPT uses a 16mm/50mm system: 16mm holes on a 50mm grid. This is the most widely adopted standard and means your clamps will work on any BPT table without modification. European premium tables often use 28mm/100mm — their tooling won't fit a 16mm system.

What top plate thickness should I choose?

For most fabrication work, 6mm is the right choice — it's rigid, accurate, and handles sustained daily use. If you're regularly working with heavy structural plate (10mm+ stock), or doing high-impact work, 8mm or 10mm gives extra stiffness and reduces surface deflection under load. 12mm is for industrial production environments. When in doubt, 6mm standard is where most shops start.

Why buy British-made over a European or imported table?

Three reasons: lead time, price, and direct support. European premium tables take 4–12 weeks to arrive and cost £1,500–8,000+. Budget imports arrive faster but with unverified steel and poor flatness (often ±2mm+). BPT ships in 5–7 days, uses certified S275JR structural steel cut to ±0.2mm, and you're talking directly to the maker if anything isn't right.

How flat should a welding table be?

For professional fabrication, ±0.5mm or better is the benchmark. BPT tables are CNC laser cut to ±0.2mm — which means your setups are accurate enough for TIG work on stainless, chassis builds, and repeat production runs. Budget import tables typically claim ±2mm or don't publish a flatness spec at all, which means you're shimming and correcting constantly.

Can I use my existing clamps and tooling?

If your tooling is designed for a 16mm fixture system, yes — it will slot straight in to any BPT Model XS, S, or L table. This covers the vast majority of independent clamping sets sold in the UK. The Model XL uses a 28mm/100mm pitch. If you're unsure, check the hole diameter on your clamp shanks — 16mm shanks fit directly, no adapter required.
