I'm an aircraft engineer by trade, based in the South-West, UK. Outside of work, I'm a fabricator through and through — spending most of my spare time in the workshop building, welding and undertaking a variety of engineering projects.

BPT started because I needed a proper welding table and couldn't find one. Everything available was either a cheap import that flexed under load, or a European brand charging £3,000+ with a 12-week lead time. Neither made sense.

So I designed one — torsion-box construction, CNC fibre laser cut from British S275 structural steel, 16mm fixture grid on a 50mm pitch. Fortunately, I already had access to laser cutting and CNC folding equipment, so building it properly rather than cutting corners was never in question. The kind of table I'd want to use myself, at a price that doesn't require a business case to justify.
